Our Thursday work cycle

It can’t possibly be Thursday already. Tomorrow is a busy day! We have our book exchange AND a very special visitor (look for pictures 😊).

We can organize and fix our work if we make an error!

Our Diet Coke and mentos experiment

We’ve been learning about volcanos this month–and we decided to show the children a different kind of eruption.

The teachers experimented with just 4 mentos at first. The children observed.

Pretty cool! What would happen if we added an entire package of Mentos? Would our eruption be higher–maybe even higher than the tree behind it? Let’s find out. Zoom in on the kiddos’ faces, if you can 😉.

Their hypothesis was correct. The geyser was HUGE. We also learned about actions and opposite reactions with this experiment!

What will next year’s afternoon curriculum look like?

Hello Parents!

I just finished typing up our afternoon curriculum for the spring.  Theses are the afternoon lessons for the children 4-years-old and older. All children will participate in some of the activities, however. Everyone will enjoy the feasts from each country, learn the poem for each month, listen and learn about the composer and create artwork from that month’s artist. Lessons that echo the afternoon curriculum will also be included on the shelves for independent work during the morning cycle for all ages.

I will have a list of how we will need parent assistance and volunteers very soon!

Our Safe Place toy drive!

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for all your help so far. Check out these pictures of your kiddos with their toy drive gauges. We have one more week!–we can do it and make our goals to help children in need. Ms. TaQueria’s classroom picture is coming soon!

I’ve also included some pictures of the students at work today.

No pictures today?!

Sorry, Parents, I am at a training regarding sensory processing difficulties and autism. We just covered quite an interesting section about all the toxins that we and our children ingest, inhale or somehow come in contact with daily. I’ll be happy to share my notes!

Just a reminder that our Book Exchange is this Friday. Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow!

Holiday Break dates

Hello Parents,

I would like to wish you happy upcoming holidays and mention that our break is from Friday, December 23rd until Monday, January 2nd.

We will see you all back at school in the new year of 2017 on Tuesday, January 3rd!

A chilly Thursday…

…will lead to an even colder night. Stay warm, my friends!

On another note, we are currently accepting donations for Safe Place! I’ll post pictures of their goal gauge.
