Hello, dear Parents!

Would anyone be interested in having a Dulce Tentacion food truck at the art shows?

I’m not sure if I can book them, but I wanted to poll you all before I tried! We could expand the art show hours from 5:30-6:15.

Some of us were transitioning outside in a huge snake line, some of us were in the garden, some of us were doing a scale solar system activity, some of us were building and playing, and some of us were relaxing and looking for baby squirrels in the trees 🙂

Hello, dear Parents!

We have a few items in our lost and found that need homes:

1. Child’s pink purse that was found yesterday in the front of the school

2. Spiderman hoodie, unknown size

3. Grey champion sweatshirt, size 3, with a large black ‘x’ in front with orange lettering that’s says “champion” underneath

Please email of any of these items belong to your family

Even if we have bad weather, we will celebrate the eclipse in class with two art projects. The children will be invited to come and go from these art projects; the normal classroom activities will still be available. We will make puffy moon paint with shaving cream and white glue (fun and very messy! Please send your child to school in clothing that could possibly get very dirty!) and string painting.

At 1:30 we will break the children up in small groups. Most of the children will sit with one teacher to read stories and sing songs. This group will sit in a spot where they cannot see the eclipse. This is base group and the children will rotate in and out of this group as they view the eclipse. In the go group, the second teacher will prepare the 4-5 children to wear their glasses and will stress safety. If, during this second group, the child will not wear their glasses, they will be asked to go read and sing in base group. The last group, with the third teacher, will actively view the eclipse. The third teacher will take the 4-5 children prepped in the go group, ask them if they should remove their glasses during eclipse viewing, and then lead them out where they can see the eclipse. Viewing time will be very short, possibly just 30 seconds, since we have 24 children per class and totality lasts only 3 minutes.

Please let me know if you have any questions at all or if you would prefer for your child to stay with base group throughout the eclipse. It will still be fun!
