A luna moth caterpillar also dropped in during playtime. After a little rest and recuperation in the butterfly garden, we placed it back in the pecan tree where it crawled quickly up a branch to eat more leaves.

Continue readingWe didn’t let last night’s inch of rain slow us down from an active and imaginative morning play time!
We also found a cicada emerging from its exoskeleton in the block square. The children were interested and respectful. They gave the insect space as it finished emerging and watched as its wings unfurled. By the time the children enjoy their popsicles, it should be able to fly away!
