The weather looks a little stormy and chilly next week for Splash Day and Messy Art Day.
I would like to see if the forecast changes before any adjustments to the schedule are made, so I will let you know if we need to substitute Splash Day for a game day day by Monday evening. If it is stormy on Wednesday, we will substitute splatter painting using fly swatters with a shaving cream marbling activity.
Thank you so much and please let me know if you have any questions at all,
Rachel

Continue readingHello, dear Parents,
If your family has some available time on Sunday morning and afternoon, this activity looks very enjoyable!
This week’s Messy Art Day activity wasn’t too messy and the children had fun learning to make playdough and smelling the delicious scent the Kool-Aid contributed to the mix! This activity is a favorite in the summer so we always make sure to send the recipe home 🙂
Next week will be fly swatter painting! Expect your child to come home with flecks of paint in their hair from ‘painting’ with their fly swatter.
Continue readingEven though the Helpful Hyraxes went in a little early due to thunder, and we blended the Quick Quokkas and Peaceful Poodle Moths to avoid any further cancellations, the children seemed to enjoy their first Splash Day of the summer!

Our first Splash Day is tomorrow! Please make sure your child has the appropriate footwear for playing during the activity.

If today is your child’s last day at Marimont, we will miss them! Please come back to visit us anytime!

Continue readingHello, dear Parents!
We’re so excited for our summer program to start next Monday, 6.2! Please see the attachment for our daily schedule.
Just a few notes about Splash Days:
1. Since so many items will be at school that day, please take time to label all the items your child brings to school (even underwear, please!)
2. Please bring your child to school with their bathing suits on but their regular clothing layered on top. They will play in the morning so please make sure they are wearing their tennis shoes. Boys and girls in swim trunks don’t need to wear shorts; girls in swimming bottoms need to wear shorts/pants for comfort during morning playtime, however. Girls and boys should wear shirts over their bathing suits unless they are also wearing a rash guard.
3. In a labeled swim/tote bag, please send a pair of underwear, water shoes, and a towel. When it is time for splash day, the children will place their upper layer of clothing in the bag, switch into their water shoes, and take their towel outside.
4. When Splash Day is over, we will help send home the wet water shoes, bathing suit, and towel in a plastic bag.
Please make sure their splash day shoes look similar to this:

If their water shoes have holes along the side or open backs, like Crocs, the child will spend most of splash day shaking out their shoes because the pea gravel will make playing very uncomfortable. Shoes with open toes, such as flip-flops, are not allowed by licensing. An old pair of tennis shoes is also perfect for splash day. Please let me know if you have any questions about splash day!
The school will be closed on the following days in the summer: 6.19, 7.4, and 7.31. The last day of summer care for our graduating friends will be 7.30.
Please let me know if you have any questions at all.
Thank you so much,
Rachel
