Guest musicians, silly jokes, and last call for shirts

Hello, dear Parents,

The online store for shirt orders will stay open through Sunday. Please visit this site if you would like to order shirts, sweat shirts, or hoodies for you or your children.

We had a few guest musicians (my children, Iggy and Tesla) visit the school today to demonstrate how sound can be made and changed on various instruments. We have our Drum Jam Session for all of our students in a few weeks! The assignment is attached.

SafePlace Toy Drive starts today!…and a note about the weather :)

Hello, dear Parents!

Our annual SafePlace toy drive starts today!

Even though we call this a ‘toy drive’, it is really a drive to help the families at SafePlace by providing whatever they need to help them as they transition to a new environment. At the holiday season, it helps their children to have new toys to replace those they have had to leave behind, but we welcome any donations from the attached Ongoing Needs list. Toys and other items should be new.

Our goal is to fill my truck! I can carry 10 bales of hay in the bed and my lanky teenage kids in the backseat, so it’s a challenge that we love to meet each year. Your donations mean so much to the families there!

The deadline for our SafePlace drive is November 7th. I will drive the toys and other items down about 11 am that Friday.

Thank you so much for your help and your support for our toy drive and please let me know if you have any questions at all!

Rachel

Some pictures before the party!

Dear Quick Quokka Parents,

Thank you so much for your kindness! Ms. Jerical’s 13th anniversary was so fun for the children and a great celebration for such a wonderful leader and teacher.

Happy Pumpkin Day!

Thank you, Parents, for all the creative effort you and your children put into their pumpkins this year. They were adorable!

If I missed your child and their pumpkin, please email me! I can take a picture before they go home.

The pumpkins will be waiting for you all by your child’s lunchbox. Thank you again!

Upcoming SafePlace Toy Drive

Hello, dear Parents!

I wanted to let you know that our SafePlace Toy Drive will start next Monday, 10/27. Our annual Marimont tradition is for the children to set a classroom goal and to keep a careful count each day. We’re mindful with our wording and explain that we are helping children who had to leave their houses quickly because they were in an unsafe situation. They had to move to a place where they could be safe. Often, that move means leaving everything behind. Our school goal is to fill the Tundra with new toys for children! SafePlace has a wish list. I’ll make sure to attach it to our official notice for the Toy Drive on Monday!
