Shaving cream art!
The children were able to make lovely, marbled shaving cream art today. The sensory experience (touch and smell) often make this project one of the children’s favorites and the amazing final product usually make it one of the teachers’ pet projects!

Hello, dear Parents!
Next Tuesday also looks colder than is preferrable for a Splash Day.
If the forecast stays low (my weather app is predicting 83 as the high), we will have a watermelon, bubble, and activity day (probably noodle painting!). The children can wear their regular clothes and shoes; no splash day bags needed.
Thank you so much for your flexibility. I suspect we are all OK with the cooler weather because we know what temperatures are headed our way soon 🙂

Hello, dear Parents!
The weather looks a little stormy and chilly next week for Splash Day and Messy Art Day.
I would like to see if the forecast changes before any adjustments to the schedule are made, so I will let you know if we need to substitute Splash Day for a game day day by Monday evening. If it is stormy on Wednesday, we will substitute splatter painting using fly swatters with a shaving cream marbling activity.

Hello, dear Parents,
If your family has some available time on Sunday morning and afternoon, this activity looks very enjoyable!
Making playdough with Kool-Aid!
This week’s Messy Art Day activity wasn’t too messy and the children had fun learning to make playdough and smelling the delicious scent the Kool-Aid contributed to the mix! This activity is a favorite in the summer so we always make sure to send the recipe home 🙂
Next week will be fly swatter painting! Expect your child to come home with flecks of paint in their hair from ‘painting’ with their fly swatter.

Even though the Helpful Hyraxes went in a little early due to thunder, and we blended the Quick Quokkas and Peaceful Poodle Moths to avoid any further cancellations, the children seemed to enjoy their first Splash Day of the summer!
