Thank you for all the food, treats, and goodies–we had so many snacks that I couldn’t put them all out on the tables at the same time. I wish the charcuterie boards I ordered were a little bigger to accommodate all the delicious food! The teachers will definitely take leftovers home today 🙂 We appreciate you!

I am so sorry, but I think the instruction sheet for the moon journal didn’t make it home!
Please take some time each night to observe the moon and to record what it looks like and the name of its phase in your child’s journal. This assignment is for older friends. If you would like a moon journal for your 2-3 year old child, please let me know!
If you are not able to see the moon phase (rainy and cloudy conditions or just a late night!), I love this site from NASA: https://science.nasa.gov/moon/moon-phases/
Please bring the moon journals back to school on 5.27 so your child can share their observations.
Thank you so much for the reminder and your patience!

Continue readingIggy Cubas visited today to demonstrate how to make different sounds with a stringed instrument and also played a song for the children. Please look in your email today for the drum assignment, due at the end of May. The children had a lot of great questions about how to decorate their guitar and learned that the color of the instrument will not affect the sound (gold or pink? They decide 🙂 ) because it won’t affect the vibrations that cause the sound–it also gave us a chance to review our receivers of sound, our ears, versus our eyes. They also asked just how often Iggy practices (every day) and why (so he can play those very difficult pieces!).
If you are interested in your child playing guitar, please let me know and I can recommend a wonderful program to you. They usually accept children aged 5 and older.
