Let’s get ready for summer!

Hello, dear Parents!

We’re so excited for our summer program to start next Monday, 6.2! Please see the attachment for our daily schedule.

Just a few notes about Splash Days:

1. Since so many items will be at school that day, please take time to label all the items your child brings to school (even underwear, please!)

2. Please bring your child to school with their bathing suits on but their regular clothing layered on top. They will play in the morning so please make sure they are wearing their tennis shoes. Boys and girls in swim trunks don’t need to wear shorts; girls in swimming bottoms need to wear shorts/pants for comfort during morning playtime, however. Girls and boys should wear shirts over their bathing suits unless they are also wearing a rash guard.

3. In a labeled swim/tote bag, please send a pair of underwear, water shoes, and a towel. When it is time for splash day, the children will place their upper layer of clothing in the bag, switch into their water shoes, and take their towel outside.

4. When Splash Day is over, we will help send home the wet water shoes, bathing suit, and towel in a plastic bag.

Please make sure their splash day shoes look similar to this:

If their water shoes have holes along the side or open backs, like Crocs, the child will spend most of splash day shaking out their shoes because the pea gravel will make playing very uncomfortable. Shoes with open toes, such as flip-flops, are not allowed by licensing. An old pair of tennis shoes is also perfect for splash day. Please let me know if you have any questions about splash day!

The school will be closed on the following days in the summer: 6.19, 7.4, and 7.31. The last day of summer care for our graduating friends will be 7.30.

Please let me know if you have any questions at all.

Thank you so much,

Rachel

Let’s make noise!

I was able to take pictures of the children just before they started to really make some noise with their instruments! Thank you so much, Parents, for bringing in such wonderful drums. The children were all really excited to show off what they made at home and to discuss how they designed their instrument to make noise!

A fun ‘good bye’ to the school year!

Hello, dear Parents!

Just a reminder of some of the activities we have next week to say ‘good bye’ to the school year and to celebrate its end in a memorable way.

On Tuesday, we will review the moon journals so please return them. I’ve heard so many friends discussing the phases with their teachers–that’s amazing! If your child didn’t complete the whole assignment this year, no worries! They will still see their friends share their work.

On Wednesday, all children are invited to bring their drum or instrument to school for a jam session during morning circle!

On Thursday, we will celebrate the end of our planet and moon studies with a PJ day for both our older and younger friends. We will still play outside, so please make sure they are wearing their sneakers. If shorts are more comfortable, they can also just wear a PJ shirt. Nightgowns probably won’t be fun to play in!

Thank you so much and please let me know if you have any questions at all!
