We had a great time with our last event of the year, Pajama Day. The children also crafted an aluminum foil moon, bedecked with multicolored star stickers, after enjoying a book about our favorite lunar friend.

A guest musician!

Tesla made her annual appearance this year to give the older children some helpful tips with the creation of their drums. How can you use a tool to make loud or soft noises on your instrument–or are you going to pick with your fingers? How can you design your instrument to make high or low sounds? What does it sound like to make two or three different sounds at the same time?

At the end, she shared the secret of every successful musician: daily practice! ๐Ÿ™‚

Our Vibrant Vipers! & the drum assignment

I was able to observe and hang out with the Vibrant Vipers today! It is so wonderful to see all the amazing work, in both academic and social spheres, that the children move through each day.

I’ve also attached our drum assignment. A hard copy should be in your child’s lunchbox today, but I understand those copies are sometimes lost! The students’ drums will be due May 29th when we have a big jam session!
