Spring 2024 pictures in the garden!
Hello, dear Parents!
I always take relaxed, non-formal bluebonnet pictures in the spring as a surprise for Mother’s Day.
Well, the bluebonnets weren’t very cooperative this year, but we do have beautiful flowers in the garden.
I will probably retake a few friends since the sun came out just at the end of our photo shoot and we had a few absent students.
Please use this link to order your child’s pictures: https://link.shutterfly.com/7rTyW7V8OIb
Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy the photos!
Rachel
Happy Friday!
We’re so excited to see you all at the Poetry Recital tomorrow!

Hello, dear Parents!
Would anyone be interested in having a Dulce Tentacion food truck at the art shows?
Here’s the menu: https://roaminghunger.com/dulce-tentacion/
I’m not sure if I can book them, but I wanted to poll you all before I tried! We could expand the art show hours from 5:30-6:15.
A snapshot into our afternoon play and activities
Some of us were transitioning outside in a huge snake line, some of us were in the garden, some of us were doing a scale solar system activity, some of us were building and playing, and some of us were relaxing and looking for baby squirrels in the trees 🙂

Hello, dear Parents!
I wanted to share the link to Athena’s nest. She’s the Great Horned Owl who lives at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Her two owlets have hatched!
There is a disclaimer on the page that the live feed may feature some natural acts that some might find unsettling, so viewer discretion is advised. Right now, the babies are fluffy and cute and snuggled underneath their mom!

We had a wonderful time during the eclipse. One of our friends said it was “the best night ever!”

We have a few exciting things happening in next week: our eclipse celebration on Monday, 4.8, and our Poetry Recital on Saturday, 4.13. Let me know if you have any questions about our events!
Continue readingLost and found
Hello, dear Parents!
We have a few items in our lost and found that need homes:
1. Child’s pink purse that was found yesterday in the front of the school
2. Spiderman hoodie, unknown size
3. Grey champion sweatshirt, size 3, with a large black ‘x’ in front with orange lettering that’s says “champion” underneath
Please email of any of these items belong to your family
Our plans for the Eclipse Celebration
Even if we have bad weather, we will celebrate the eclipse in class with two art projects. The children will be invited to come and go from these art projects; the normal classroom activities will still be available. We will make puffy moon paint with shaving cream and white glue (fun and very messy! Please send your child to school in clothing that could possibly get very dirty!) and string painting.
At 1:30 we will break the children up in small groups. Most of the children will sit with one teacher to read stories and sing songs. This group will sit in a spot where they cannot see the eclipse. This is base group and the children will rotate in and out of this group as they view the eclipse. In the go group, the second teacher will prepare the 4-5 children to wear their glasses and will stress safety. If, during this second group, the child will not wear their glasses, they will be asked to go read and sing in base group. The last group, with the third teacher, will actively view the eclipse. The third teacher will take the 4-5 children prepped in the go group, ask them if they should remove their glasses during eclipse viewing, and then lead them out where they can see the eclipse. Viewing time will be very short, possibly just 30 seconds, since we have 24 children per class and totality lasts only 3 minutes.
Please let me know if you have any questions at all or if you would prefer for your child to stay with base group throughout the eclipse. It will still be fun!
