Some of us play. Some of us garden. We might finish our lunch outside. A few of us stay inside for a bit and make clouds in jars or animal books!

Dress-like-a-chordate Day!
Hello, dear Parents,
It’s time to plan the last activity of the year on the very last day of school!
On Tuesday, May 31st, all the students at school are invited to dress like their very favorite chordate (or vertebrate)! They can dress in full and dramatic costume (we’ve had some awesome dinosaur costumes over the years) or just wear a t-shirt with their favorite chordate on it.
The children in afternoon circle have been studying living vs. nonliving, plant vs. animal, and will now start observing and learning about the differences between vertebrates (chordates) and invertebrates (nonchordates).
I’ve also noticed a fun dress-up day on the last day of school helps ease some of the anxiety felt by our friends who are graduating. Many of them have been with their classroom community for 3 years, so they sometimes feel a little nervous about their new, “big” school. A celebration is not only a distraction, but a fun way to say goodbye and to remember Marimont for its unique events!

Thank you so much, Parents, for all the sweets and goodies! I bought extra aluminum trays so the teachers could take home all the delicious food they didn’t eat for breakfast so they can enjoy it at another meal. And there was enough food to enjoy for another meal and to share!

Our Art Shows are this week
How exciting! The art shows are short events, but so enjoyable! The teachers will have the children’s art presented on a table. Students are invited to show off their art–and admire their friends’ work! Snacks will also be available. All art shows begin at 5:30.
