Celebrating friendship together
Thank you so much, dear Parents, for the thought and the artistry that went into these cards. It was wonderful to see how much the children contributed with their drawings and their kind words to their special friend. The children felt tremendously proud of their work and appreciative of the cards they were given.

Hello, dear Parents!
Moon Journals will head home today with your children! Please take some time each night for the next month to observe and record the moon phase with your child. If your child isn’t at school today, no worries. We will send a Moon Journal home with them when they return to school. The due date for our older friends will be Thursday, March 17th. The younger friends can also bring their journals in to school on that day; this assignment is optional for them. Please let me know if you have any questions at all!
NASA created this wonderful site with very helpful visuals and videos.
I can’t wait to post pictures of our students during the Sharing Friendship exchange tomorrow!

Hello, dear Parents!
The children will give their homemade cards to their special friend this Thursday, 2/10! If you did not receive a friend’s name, or this is the first you’ve heard of this activity, please let me know!
Since every child will receive just one card from one friend, it is important that the children bring their cards in to school that day to make sure that no one is left out. If you don’t think your child will be at school that day, you can drop the card off early. Please let me know if that won’t be an option and we will have a card ready for that friend.
And no worries about candy! The teachers will also give the children a package of gummy bears for home.

I hope everyone stays warm and safe! Friday isn’t looking much better than Thursday, temperature-wise. I’ll keep an eye out on the forecast–we hope to re-open on Friday if the roads are clear and safe for student and teacher travel!

Hello, dear Parents!
I will let you know on Wednesday night about any potential closures through SmartCare and the blog. Here’s hoping that this ice event has all been blown massively out of proportion and the week can conclude as usual!
Tomorrow, your child will come home with a piece of yellow construction paper in a gallon bag and a friend’s name. Rather than having a traditional card exchange, we are going to write and decorate one special card to one friend in our classroom. You and your child can decorate this card however you would like! Most of the children have known each other for at least the school year and may have a good idea of what their friend really loves, but the teachers can also help you out with ideas! No candy attached to the card, please. We will give each child a pack of yummy Albanese gummy bears to go home with their card. Please let me know if you have any questions at all!
