Costumes…and a compromise at our house!

Dear Parents,

I hope you enjoyed this wonderfully warm and sunny weekend!

Wednesday is our first Fable dress-up day. Please email me if you do not know what characters are available for your child to dress up as. Please do not send children in Halloween costumes.

I’ve uploaded a picture of Ciaran’s chicken mask (his class has studied “The hen and the apple tree”). You can see it’s nothing too extravagant! We had to compromise, however. Ciaran does not care for dress up or costumes. Eventually, he agreed a mask was appropriate for the occasion–but he wanted to be able to take it off at any time and to have creative control! If you haven’t already made your child’s costume, or if they are hesitant to participate, including them in the design and creation process helps greatly!

Día de los Muertos celebration…

…is next Tuesday, October 30th! The sign up is full–thank you, parents!!

You can dress your child in a guayabera or flowered blouse–or in their normal clothes! The children have made calaveras at school already and will enjoy the traditional food for a Día de los Muertos celebration. I’ll post pictures of our small parade!

The pumpkins were brilliant!

Thank you, parents, for helping your child with this project. The pumpkins were funny, colorful and so creative! I love watching the children stand and admire one another’s work, comment on the uniqueness of each pumpkin and also observe what materials were used.
