Celebrate International Women’s Day with us!

On Thursday, the guides will dress up as women from history! The children are invited to dress up, too! Boys can dress as famous men from history or they can bring in pictures of women who are special to them (saw a few wonderful pictures of mothers last year 😊).

The Zoo Man’s visit today!

Hello Parents!

About once every three or four months, the director and owner of the Capital of Texas Zoo comes to visit us! I don’t usually tell the children about his visits because sometimes emergencies pop up (as you can imagine with a zoo) and he is not able to visit after all.

Today, he brought a six-month old monkey he adopted when its mother died. This was the first time that he has brought a primate, so we were excited! He is socializing the little one with two other monkeys. I loved his opening line, “Angel (the monkey) may be cute, but monkeys do not make good pets!” 😝

You’ll also see pictures of our old cockatoo friend, Avery, and the dear blue-tongued skink, Sausage. They come to visit each time.
