Our egg hunt!

Each year, just before Easter, the children scour the playground on a hunt for an egg labeled with their name. Then they can help any friends who may not be able to locate their own. The children love this hunt for their own special egg. It removes the old egg-hunt competitive notion that more is better!

Picture order forms

Hello Parents!

All picture order forms should now be handed out. Please let me know if you did receive an order envelope (unless your child was absent–they will receive their envelope today). The class pictures are adorable!

Peter’s mother came to visit Ms. Joanna’s class today to show the students oysters and to talk about a pearl she found!

Flower help requested for O’Keeffe art project

Hello Parents!
Next month, the children will begin one of their favorite art studies with our Georgia O’Keeffe flower paintings!
During lesson time, the guide will keep a large vase filled with flowers on a table. The children are invited to come and to paint a flower of their choosing–just like Georgia O’Keeffe! We ask that parents donate the flowers each week. The HEB $4 bouquets are usually perfect because they provide just enough flowers for all the classes to share.
I have created a sign up for the flowers at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0B45A8AC28A4FE3-okeeffe1
Thank you so much for your help and your donations! The children love this project!

Hope you had a wonderful Tuesday!

Mike Johnston, Rhett’s father, came to visit Ms. TaQueria’s class today to talk about his time in Tanzania. The children were able to hear and to repeat a few Swahili words and to see a couple of artifacts!

The children also made mandazi in afternoon circle (I just missed Ms. Stefanie’s class’ work). In morning circle, Ms. Joanna’s class went outside to hone their teamwork and self-control skills. Ms. Stefanie’s class had a great time inside!

Picture order forms headed home tomorrow!

Hello Parents!

Class and graduation pictures are in! We will send the order envelops home tomorrow in lunchboxes.

Bob highlighted the class picture order line yellow on the graduate envelope.

Please return the envelopes and payment by next Thursday, April 5th. You know I will send out more reminders 😉

Everyone needs a haircut—or shearing

Check out our newly shorn sheep! They behaved so well. We also have 3 bags of wool for any interested parties. Babydolls have good quality, shorter wool, but it is usually full of organic matter because they are so close to the ground (which is a polite way of saying they are filthy little sheep). Let me know if you are interested in taking any of the wool!
