Hello Parents!
Next month, we will begin studying sound. One of the children’s favorite aspects about this study are our lovely parents who come to visit and play instruments!
If you play any sort of instrument, please come visit our afternoon circles! We can make room for you in our schedule any time! Thank you, Parents!

Hello Parents!
I hope you are all staying healthy. We have had to three cases of flu in Ms. Joanna’s class over the weekend and are taking precautions against anything further sickness (to the best of our abilities!). The rest of the classes have had almost full attendance. If your child catches the flu, keep them home until they are fever free, without medicine, for at least a full 24 hours. If your child starts to run a fever, please take them to their pediatrician immediately. Fever is a primary symptom of the flu. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions!

Tomorrow, the afternoon circle groups will listen to an autobiography called “The Boy who Harnessed the Wind” by William Kamkwamba. This book and the narration are amazing. There will be several more intense parts we will skip, but I encourage you to look up this book in its entirety for any older children you have! My 9-year-old daughter says it’s her favorite book ever!

Dear Parents,
We will hold an additional Parent Night in February. This meeting is very relaxed and gives everyone a chance to discuss our upcoming learning journey for reading groups, the graduation ceremony in May and our poetry recitals–among other spontaneous things!
I will not be able to provide childcare this time around. Unfortunately, students must stay at home for this meeting! If you are not able to make this work, your teacher will provide the meeting’s hand-outs to you and would be happy to schedule a conference.
Ms. Jerical’s parents will meet Tuesday, February 20th at 6 p.m.
Ms. Joanna’s parents will meet Wednesday, February 21st at 6 p.m.
Ms. TaQueria’s parents will meet Thursday, February 22nd at 6 p.m.
Ms. Stefanie’s parents will meet Wednesday, February 28th at 6 p.m.
See you all soon!

I hope you have a day full of kind acts!

The sun is shining and the warmth feels amazing!
Hello Parents!
Licensing recently visited. The inspection went extremely well and I was very pleased to meet such a professional, kind representative.
She mentioned that some schools keep a folder of recalled items and toys for the parents to view. I thought that was a great idea. Instead of a folder, I will post a link to the recalled items from the Consumer Product Safety Commission at the beginning of each month.
Please see these recalls.
And please email me if you have any questions at all!
Tomorrow will be gloriously warm and sunny. Texas winters are remarkable. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
