This is a friendly reminder that Marimont will be closed for the holiday break from Monday, December 25th through Tuesday, January 2nd. We will see you back in the new year on Wednesday, January 3rd!

We had a huge amount of toys donated! Thank you so much, Parents! I could not actually take a picture of the toys in the back of my Tahoe. We had several toy avalanches and I had to close my hatch very quickly to pile more toys on top! Our toy drive filled 3 giant toy bins down at SafePlace!

I just missed Ms. Stefanie’s book exchange, but I know she has pictures on her blog, too! Thank you, Parents, for bringing books in to school. The children loved the exchange!

…horrendous fog yesterday couldn’t smother a great day! I will post pictures of the book exchange a little later in the day.

…and that is probably the only time you will ever see that phrase on the blog. But our teachers are so fierce and creative! Please look at our teachers’ handmade ugly sweaters and vote for your favorite this afternoon at pick-up time today.

Hello Parents!

One more week of school until the winter break…can’t believe it!

On Saturday, Ms. Joanna (9:00), Ms. Jerical (9:30) and Ms. TaQueria’s (10:00) classes will have their final poetry recitals of the year.

On Tuesday, December 19th, please send your child to school with a wrapped book for the exchange!

On Thursday, December 21st, SafePlace toy donations are due. I will probably leave for the warehouse at noon. Thank you, Parents, for all your support with the toy drive so far!

We hope you had a wonderful day! On Friday, make sure that you and your child vote for a lead or assistant in our “Ugliest Sweater Contest.” It’s our first year to hold this event. We have clever and crafty teachers–I’m excited to see what they create!

Thank you to the parents and children who have already donated! I will post a list of items SafePlace usually recommends for donations tomorrow.

The children were able to play outside in gorgeous weather and work quietly with focus and concentration. Afternoon circles also read “Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins.” That book is a favorite year-round!
