Hello Parents!
I am so excited about this Friday, our first Splash Day of the summer! We eat watermelon, play with bubbles and run around in the water (if we are so inclined!).
I am one of those parents who is paranoid about visibly writing my child’s name on things for general public view, so we keep special Splash Day bags at our house. When the wet clothing comes home on Friday afternoon, I pop it into the washer and dryer, fold it back up and put it right back into the splash bag for next week.
Here’s how to prepare for Splash Day:

Please send your child to school in their bathing suits with their tennis shoes and socks on. Inside their splash bag, please pack underwear, a shirt, shorts/pants and the water shoes they will use that day. Please make sure everything is labeled with your child’s name. I usually label my child’s water shoes on the fabric that covers their toes.

Please make sure their water shoes cover their toes. We don’t want to lose any toenails as we run around in the wet grass with our friends! Students who wear sandals that expose their toes will be invited to eat watermelon and blow bubbles, but not to play in the water.

- Please label their swim bag and their towel with their names in very large lettering. This act helps both the children and us! I advise sending an old bag and an old towel. I wouldn’t want an expensive towel that is part of a matching set to become lost! If you have multiple children who attend the school, please send them with separate swim bags because they will change in different classes.
