Northern European cuisine!

Hello Parents!

Next week on Wednesday, September 28th, we will try various foods in afternoon circle that are from Northern Europe. If you can make any of the following foods, or want to try a new, exciting recipe, we would really appreciate your helping preparing the cuisine for the classes! A 13×9 pan of food is usually more than enough for the three classes.

Please email me at rachelcubas@marimontmontessoripreschool.net if you can help! Thank you so much!

Here are some ideas, but please feel free to recommend more!

  1. Rosenmunnar
  2. Kropser (baked pancakes)
  3. Potato dumplings
  4. Irish soda bread
  5. Scottish shortbread cookies
  6. Corned beef hash
  7. Dutch shortbread cookies

Mindfulness listening activity

Dear Parents,

We are going to begin discussing mindful behavior this week in morning circle. Today, your child will have a mindful, silent listening exercise to see juts how many sounds they can hear all around the school. We will make a list! I encourage you to repeat this practice with them to see how many noises they can hear at home! Are the noises at home different than the noises at school?

Work time…

…is always fascinating to observe. I see trends within and between classes. I can see children pick different sorts of lessons at different periods in the work cycle. It’s tough to catch it all on an iPhone!

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend! It’s good to have you all back at school. The classes will plant their gardens this week! Look for pictures 😊

Let’s celebrate good work!
